A single asset or resource failing to do so and loading via insecure HTTP:// protocol (Missing the most important ‘S‘) is strictly considered insecure content and thus causes browser padlock to NOT show.
How to run mixed content scanner?
With Mixed content scanner of WP Encryption, You’re allowed to investigate any frontend as well as wp-admin pages. The scanner is very straightforward and requires simple URL input to start the scan.
1. Login to your wp-admin
2. Go to PLUGINS > ADD NEW
3. Install & Activate “WP Encryption” free WordPress SSL plugin if not already installed.
4. You should notice “Mixed Content Scanner” option below WP Encryption tab on left panel of your wp-admin, click on it.
5. Enter the page url slug you want to examine and click on SCAN button.
6. Once after the scan completes, You can easily analyze the results table identifying which assets are causing the issue and fix them accordingly.
Note:
Mixed content scanner of WP Encryption requires a specific header type to be accepted. If your hosting platform / server don’t accept the required header type, unfortunately “Mixed Content Scanner” is not shown for such sites.
